What is Wild Bob's Amazing Everywhere Balm?

Our all natural, chemical free Amazing Everywhere Balm really is, well, amazing everywhere!

When we set out we were looking to discover a recipe that would create a go to product that would cater for the needs of those outdoorsy folk who don't want to carry pockets full of different products when one product will do the job handsomely... I doubt there's a man or woman alive that couldn't find a use for this balm...

So, just what can Wild Bob's Amazing Everywhere Balm do?

Wild Bob's A.E. Balm is a real swiss army knife of a product. Use it to protect yourself from the elements by applying to exposed skin in severe weather conditions to help prevent chapping and windburn. Apply after exposure as a moisturiser to help skin heal and repair. Apply to hair as a leave in conditioner and hair styler for ladies & gentlemen (use sparingly, less really is more!). It works fantastically as a conditioner/styling balm for the bearded gent too. The oils in this product are well known for helping skin problems such as acne, psoriasis, eczema and many other ailments. Read below for a full run down of this products ingredients and their individual properties.

Due to the essential oil content the balm cannot be sold for use on lips in case of ingestion.

Go on then, what's in it?

Wild Bob's A.E. Balm is a combination of 16 all natural oils and butters with nothing else added. No nasties. No chemicals. No parabens. No testing on animals. Just all natural, straight from the earth, organic (where possible!) ingredients. Our unique blend of premium oils delivers a premium quality product that you won't find anywhere else.

Argan Oil

Argan oil is rich in vitamin E. When applied externally, trocopherol from the vitamin E helps to boost cell production while promoting healthy skin and hair. Argan oil’s high linoleic acid content helps to reduce inflammation caused by acne (not to mention rashes, infections and bug bites) while helping to soothe damaged skin cells. Argan oil is an effective treatment to soothe the skin after shaving, both for men after shaving their beards and for women after shaving their legs. Argan oil is not only beneficial to skin — it’s also great for hair. This non-greasy oil makes for the perfect leave-in conditioner that makes your hair easier to style while repairing those pesky split ends. Argan oil helps to tame frizz and fly-aways and protect against the heat of hair dryers, curlers and flat irons, all the while promoting body and a healthy shine.

Jojoba Oil

Jojoba oil plays the role of sebum and moisturizes our skin and hair when our body stops doing it naturally. On the other hand, too much sebum, which happens during puberty or when hormone levels are high, can result in oily skin and acne. Jojoba oil removes sticky buildup or excess oil, too; it keeps your oil levels balanced. That makes it a strong natural treatment for eczema. It’s commonly used to treat acne, psoriasis, sunburn and chapped skin. Because jojoba is an emollient, it soothes the skin and unclogs hair follicles. Jojoba oil can also accelerate the wound-healing process, as indicated in a study done at the Department of Environment and Life Sciences in Italy. The results proved that jojoba oil speeds up wound closures and stimulates collagen synthesis; the study also noted that jojoba oil had extremely low toxic effects when used on the skin. It also has antifungal properties and can be used to treat symptoms of infections such as athletes foot.

Mango Butter

When it comes to pampering your body, mango butter is hard to beat. The butter is filled with oleic acid and stearic acid, two fatty acids that work to keep skin and hair soft and shiny. In the same way, mango butter is high in antioxidants and vitamins, and it has wound healing properties as well. Mango butter is known to reduce signs of fine lines and wrinkles. It is used to help heal dry skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. It is a great conditioner for hair, leaving your hair hydrated.

Castor Oil

Castor oil was probably a staple item in your grandmother’s home pharmacy, but have you ever considered what good it could do for you today? As it turns out, this simple oil is more powerful than you realize and is the secret to enhancing your body’s natural systems in dozens of ways. Castor oil is a triglyceride made of fatty acids, 90 percent of which is the rare and beneficial ricinoleic acid. This makes castor oil an especially dense, concentrated form of oil that supports the immune system by increasing the count of T-11 white blood cells in your bloodstream. These T-11 cells act as antibodies and aid your body in fighting off invading viruses, bacteria, fungi and even cancer cells. the beneficial salts and esters naturally found in castor oil make excellent skin-conditioning agents, which explains why it has long been a popular ingredient in cosmetic products.

Coconut Oil

Using coconut oil on your skin is an all-natural method to eliminate many of the toxic ingredients that are found on supermarket shelves. The medium-chain fatty acids found in coconut oil are easily broken down, the face absorbs the oil beautifully. The antifungal and antibacterial properties then do their magic, helping moisturize and prevent breakouts of acne. Coconut oil will moisturize dry feet and treat a number of conditions ranging from Athletes foot, to foot odor, ingrown toenails and beyond.

Shea Butter

Full of all-natural Vitamin A, 100 percent pure, unrefined, raw shea butter aids in numerous skin conditions such as blemishes and wrinkles, stretch mark prevention during pregnancy, muscle fatigue, dermatitis, and radiation treatments for certain medical problems. Raw shea butter is extremely moisturizing and very hydrating, when applied to the skin, it provides immediate softness and smoothness. The National Center for Biotechnology Information published a study indicating that shea nuts and shea fat (shea butter) constitute a significant source of anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor promoting compounds. Another study from the American Journal of Life Sciences claims that shea butter boosts collagen production, demonstrating anti-aging properties. Shea butter seals in moisture, conditioning the scalp, alleviating dandruff and providing overall protection from harsh climates.

Bees wax

Beeswax is a great choice for many skin conditions. It is useful in the treatment of dermatitis, psoriasis and eczema. Beeswax is an amazing way to moisturize the skin and is commonly found in skin care products and cosmetics. It can help protect and repair rough, dry or chapped skin because it has the ability to lock in moisture. In addition to being a natural moisturizer that treats dry skin, you can use it daily to help prevent dry skin in the first place.

Neem Oil

Loaded with nutrients, neem oil is used in natural skin care products because it contains high levels of antioxidants that help protect the skin from environmental damage. Neem also helps fight free radical damage in the skin because it contains carotenoids, which provide high antioxidant compounds. Neem oil makes for a great natural mosquito repellent that is safe to use. As reported in the Journal of the American Mosquito Control Association, when 2 percent neem oil was mixed with coconut oil, then applied to the exposed body parts of human volunteers, it provided complete protection for approximately 12 hours from the bites of all anopheline species.

Cedarwood Essential Oil

Cedarwood essential oil comes from a species of evergreen, cedar oil tends to have a warm, woodsy scent that many people find naturally invigorating. There are plenty of medicinal and beneficial properties in cedar oil that make it useful in many ways. Not only is cedar oil a natural bactericidal, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory, it is also useful for building up your immune system and keeping you healthy.

Rosemary Essential Oil

Rosemary is one of the most powerful herbs and essential oils on the planet! Having an antioxidant ORAC value of 11,070, rosemary has the same incredible free radical fighting power as goji berries. Topically, rosemary can also be used to reduce pain as well as promote the growth of hair. It's scent can also improve cognitive function.

Peppermint Essential Oil

Peppermint oil is one of the most versatile essential oils out there. It can be used aromatically, topically and internally to address a number of health concerns, from muscles aches and seasonal allergy symptoms, to low energy and digestive complaints. It’s also commonly used to boost energy levels and improve both skin and hair health. Peppermint essential oil is a very effective natural painkiller and muscle relaxant. It also has cooling, invigorating and antispasmodic properties. Peppermint oil is especially helpful in alleviating a tension headache, in one clinical trial performing as well as acetaminophen. It will also promote hair growth and reduce dandruff, relieve itchiness and repel bugs naturally.

Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender essential oil is the most used essential oil in the world today, but the benefits of lavender were actually discovered over 2,500 years ago. Because of its powerful antioxidant, antimicrobial, sedative, calming and antidepressant properties, lavender oil benefits abound and it’s been used both cosmetically and therapeutically for centuries. It can help to heal burns and wounds, restore skin complexion and fight acne, slow aging with powerful antioxidants and relieve pain.

Lemon Essential Oil

Lemons and lemon essential oil have been used in Ayurvedic medicine to treat a wide spectrum of health conditions for at least 1,000 years. Citrus plants are the main sources of benefit-rich essential oils because of their many uses in food and medicine. And lemon oil is one of the most popular citrus essential oils because of its versatility and powerful antioxidant properties. The health benefits of lemon essential oil have been well established scientifically. Lemon is best known for its ability to cleanse toxins from the body and it’s widely used to stimulate lymphatic drainage, rejuvenate energy, purify skin, and fight bacteria and fungi.

Sandalwood Essential Oil

Sandalwood essential oil can help you achieve more clarity and calmness due to its extensive therapeutic benefits. This special essential oil doesn’t just have an amazing scent, sandalwood can also have an effect on overall well-being and mental health, along with many other surprising healing properties. Sandalwood is an excellent anti-viral agent. It has been found to be beneficial to prevent replication of common viruses, such as herpes simplex. Sandalwood is a mild astringent, meaning it can induce minor contractions in our soft tissues, making it excellent on skin after shaving to close pores. It can be applied to the skin to reduce inflammation from mild skin irritation such as superficial wounds, pimples, warts, or boils. Sandalwood is also an anti-inflammatory agent that may provide relief from mild inflammation such as insect bites, contact irritations, or other skin conditions.

Bergamot Essential Oil

Bergamot oil is used in skin soaps because it helps to inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi. According to a review published in Frontiers in Pharmacology, it has been reported that bergamot essential oil can inhibit the growth of Campylobacter jejuniEscherichia coliListeria monocytogenesBacillus cereus and Staphylococcus aureus. Bergamot oil is a great way to reduce the symptoms of sprains, muscle aches and headaches. Instead of relying on pain killers that have nasty side effects, use this safe and natural oil to reduce pain and tension.

Vanilla Essential Oil

Vanilla is proven to fight infections and diseases caused by oxidation and inflammation. Vanilla oil also promotes skin and hair health, relieves muscle pain and cramps, and balances hormones naturally. For thousands of years, it’s been used by men and women who struggle with loss of libido, anxiety and high blood pressure. Vanilla essential oil has anti carcinogenic properties — it helps inhibit the development of cancer before it becomes a problem, making it a potential natural cancer treatment. This powerful oil curbs the growth of cancerous cells, mostly because it acts as an antioxidant that prevents the oxidation of cells. Antioxidants kill free radicals in the body and reverse oxidative stress-causing chronic disease.
